They stripped him…beat him….leaving him half dead”. Pray today for all victims of abuse, whether physical, verbal, sexual or emotional, remembering especially Christian brothers and sisters persecuted or tortured for their faith. TUESDAY: “A priest and …a Levite… saw him (and) passed by on the other side” Pray that today we would all have our eyes and ears open to those in need and not turn away from people or situations just because they make us feel uncomfortable or fearful. WEDNESDAY: “A Samaritan…saw him (and) took pity on him”. Ask God today to forgive you for any occasion when you have failed to show pity to someone who needed it. Pray too that you will forgive anyone who has let YOU down. THURSDAY: “He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine”. Pray today for all in the caring professions: doctors, nurses, paramedics, mental health experts, home carers…. Ask that God will put their skills to best use so that they bring healing and comfort to those who most need it. If you are in good health yourself, thank God for that. FRIDAY: “He put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him”. Thank God today for all that you have and ask Him to show you ways that you can help others in practical ways. Be ready to move out of your comfort zone! SATURDAY: “He took out two silver coins and gave…(and) he said …I will reimburse you for any extra expense..”. Pray that God will bless you with a generous spirit and that you will be open-handed in your giving. As our church continues to raise money for the Parish Centre, ask God to show you the ways He wants you to contribute. SUNDAY: “Which of these…was a neighbour?” “The one who had mercy” “Go and do likewise”. Praise God today that we have His word so readily available to us. Pray that what we learn from it will resonate through all our lives, every day. Amen.
