Our churches of St Thomas' and St Peter's serve two distinct geographical areas on the west side of Chesterfield and have two separate congregations. However they share common resources and support one another. The Church Office is at St Thomas'. View map of the parish here.

Although we are a busy parish what we do is underpinned by the Bible and prayer.

The Rector of the parish is the Reverend Matt Barnes and we are blessed with a number of retired clergy, retired Church Army Officers, and Readers who take, preach and help out at our services. St Peter's also has a full time non-stipendary minister.

Lay leadership and participation is very important. We employ a Youth Work Coordinator, a Children’s Ministry & Community Outreach Co-ordinator, Worship and Parish Assistant and a Church Administrator.
The Church Council is responsible for setting the strategy for the churches. This is implemented by the District Church Councils at St Thomas' and St Peter's.

Our services are varied ranging from fairly traditional to contemporary.

Every year we publish a booklet 'A Year in the Life of the Parish' just prior to our Annual Church Meeting in April. Our latest edition is available for you to read.
