A 'Pampered Chef' party was held at St Thomas' attended by a couple of dozen ladies (and two men). Proceeds from the eveing went to St Thomas' Development Fund. This is an article from the August 2009 edition of the Church Magazine Down at the meeting room on May 15 there was a gathering of ladies. This gathering was infiltrated by two intrepid males. One was your enterprising editor who is intent on taking photographs of every activity of this church. The other was myself. I was there because I had heard that there would be a cookery demonstration, and I have to keep my standards up. I had also heard that there would something there to eat! The gathering was a Pampered Chef evening organised by Karen Riley and the Pampered Chef lady, Catherine Draisey. Catherine demonstrated a very wide range of kitchenware. It included all sorts of clever tools for cutting and slicing, some very good knives and some ceramic cookware that nothing appeared to stick to. The ceramic cookware was used to produce some very ‘skyscraper’ like Yorkshire puddings, which stayed the same size as they cooled. There was also a pudding made of chopped waffles, blueberries and chocolate which I rather enjoyed. My wife Val and I are both into tools, kitchen tools in the case of Val; my interests are a little wider. It was a pleasant and relaxing evening, even for us token males. Val and I met some new people and £130 was raised for the Living Stones Project. Thank you Karen and Catherine. PS Both Val and I would like to know if anybody has managed to find the recipe for the blueberry pudding on the internet. Robin Dawson Click here to see the pictures enlarged.
